Skinny Black Russian

Everyone has heard of a White Russian. 

2 parts vodka

1 part kahlua

1 part milk

What most people don't know.. is that the BLACK Russian actually came first. 

"In the late 1940s, Perle Mesta, the American ambassador to Luxembourg, was hanging out in the bar at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels. The establishment’s bartender, Gustave Tops, decided to make a signature drink for her, the Black Russian. The Cold War was just starting, so creating a dark, mysterious drink by mixing Russian vodka with Kahlúa was appropriate for the time" 

The milk addition happened in the mid-1960s. That drink was, of course, immortalized in 1998 when Jeff Bridges, playing the Dude in The Big Lebowski, quaffed eight of them during the course of the movie. (He dropped a ninth on the floor.)  Liquor.Com

Due to my love for all things chocolate, tonight I decided to make a Black Russian with a splash of Chocolate Soy Milk. Perf!

The Mixtape Debacle

I had a long break in between classes today so I decided to sit down and try and do one of the most time consuming things ever: make a good cd. I just got a new car so I've been spending more time driving around than normal. I have an auxiliary cord in it right now but the sound quality is terrible. Thus, I have to resort to my 8th grade expertise in burning CD's.

So.. I decided to head to one of my favorite free music sites: Dat Piff to try and track down some good sheiiit. This site has an endless amount of mixtapes that come from headlining rappers like Yo Gotti, Juicy J, Rick Ross, etc.. as well as stuff from your wanna-b late night freestyler turned mixtape producer. The problem with having so much content is that you really have to take an hour or two to sit down and decide what you like or not.

Because rappers have the ability to put out mixtapes instead of making albums that take months or even years to produce, the quality of music is getting worse and worse. Now some would argue that rap music now a days is shit anyways.. but I think there are diamonds in the rough.. its just unfortunate it takes to much time to find them!

Amateur

Welcome to my first post. I decided to make this blog as a part of my web design class and to force myself to hone my writing skills which I have managed to neglect throughout my last 3 years of college. Maybe i'll talk about some of my frustrations with my college and the whole idea of going to college in a later post.. 

In this blog I hope to write about basically everything I find interesting. I am an avid internet explorer so I hope to target some of my favorite interests (food, photography, travel, weird random shit) and put it all into one place. 

Feeling super dizzy and weird this morning so this is going to be a short one. Maybe Ill come up with something more interesting to write about later.
